Povaleč takes place in the beautiful Baroque village of Valeč in the Karlovy Vary region. Heads-up: there’s another village called Valeč elsewhere in the Czech Republic, so make sure you don’t realise halfway toward Vysočina that you’ve taken a detour to the wrong one. So how do you get to the right Valeč? Don’t worry—you can reach it by just about every means of transport (and given the limited parking, leaving the car at home is your best bet!).
FlixBus
Just like last year, it will be possible to get to Povaleč by FlixBus—and this time the bus will drop you right in Valeč! The precise time schedule will be known few weeks before the festival.
REGULAR BUSES
Thanks to our partnership with ROPID, you can now reach Povaleč on several intercity bus services. Throughout the festival, selected buses on route 305 will run all the way from Prague – Zličín directly to Valeč at the times shown in the timetable below. A few other buses on the same route will terminate in Lubenec, where you can transfer to a connecting bus that takes you the rest of the way to Valeč.
At the weekend, direct buses will also run Valeč → Prague. Exact departure times will be listed few weeks before the festival and can also be found on the IDOS website.
PovalečBus
Because FlixBus and the regular bus services, we’ve decided not to run the PovalečBus anymore.
TRAIN
If you’d rather travel by train and don’t mind a bit of a walk, take a train to Libkovice station (services run via Rakovník). Check exact connections on www.idos.cz. From Libkovice it’s only about 5 km on foot—the path leads through Kostrčany and Jeřeň. You can also download a detailed map showing the route from Libkovice to Valeč. It’s a pleasant stroll, and the promise of a drink at one of our bars when you arrive will make the kilometres fly by.
CAR
Of course, you can still drive with car to Povaleč. However, because parking space is limited and we want to protect the environment, we’d really appreciate it if you used one of the transport options above or filled every seat in your car. To find or offer rides, use the festival’s Facebook event.
Valeč lies just off the D6 motorway (Prague → Karlovy Vary). Between kilometre markers 81 and 82, take Exit 83 for Chyše / Valeč. At the first roundabout, take the second exit; at the second roundabout, take the first exit. This road leads straight into Valeč. As soon as you enter the village you’ll see a Baroque church. Turn left before it through the stone gateway—this brings you directly into the Povaleč grounds and Car Park “A.” If you stay on the main road and pass through the village centre, a little way beyond the square you’ll see the turning for Car Park “C.”
